We understand that college is full of decisions, and that one of the most important is budgeting your time for student organizations and extracurricular activities. As such, we want to ensure that you have all of your questions answered prior to deciding whether UTK AIAA is the organization for you. 1. Are there any fees associated with UTK AIAA?
UTK AIAA has a required yearly membership due of $20. This is to ensure that the organization has the ability to achieve its mission of networking its members with industry professionals to its fullest extent, while at once providing our you with a fun, memorable experience. As a due-paying member, you will guarantee yourself the ability to go on organization trips, as well as have all costs covered for our annual UTK AIAA End-of-Year Banquet!
In addition to local chapter dues, members also have the option to also become a national-level AIAA member. This membership is $28/year and is NOT REQUIRED, but is greatly encourage due to the array of benefits that arise from being a national-level member. 2. Are there any academic or organizational requirements to remain a member of UTK AIAA?
After becoming a dues-paying member, there are no other requirements that a member needs to fulfill! As a professional networking organization, UTK AIAA strongly promotes the belief that our members get out of their experience what they put into it, and as such things such as going to meetings, networking with companies brought in and attending social events is entirely up to you. Furthermore, we welcome individuals from all academic backgrounds at our university, and in accordance with our constitution membership is open to all students, regardless of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, pregnancy, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, physical or mental disability or covered veteran status.
3. When are meetings held?
Meeting times and locations are given out in our email updates. In order to receive information about UTK AIAA meetings and more, be sure to become a member and subscribe to our newsletter!
4. How can I stay the up-to-date with the news, activities and meetings planned for UTK AIAA?
The best way to stay involved and up to date with the activities UTK AIAA participates in is to be: a dues-paying member, subscribed to our newsletter and an individual excited to forward their professional aerospace career!
